Riverside Maple Farms grew from a family passion for being outside and collecting sweet sap from maple trees that grew on the family’s farm in the early spring months. Grown into its current size and business by Erica and Chris Welch, the farm has come to be known as a family-friendly destination in the Capitol Region by locals and visitors alike.
Situated on the west side of Schenectady county conveniently off of I-90, Riverside Maple Farms offers a year-round maple experience for visitors. Tours, tastings and treats are always on offer. Guests are invited to take a guided tour of the farm and learn how maple syrup is made from tree to table, as well as the history of maple making and the Welch family. In our well-appointed retail store, guests can outfit their pantries with maple syrup, maple sugar, maple candies, maple cotton candy and more to delight and surprise your family!
One of the highlights of visiting Riverside Maple Farms is a chance to taste four grades of maple syrup made on site. Knowledgeable staff enjoy sharing their favorite pairings for syrups, giving recipe ideas and hearing customer’s own maple stories.
No visit to the farm is complete unless guests have a chance to see where our famous maple cotton candy is made as well as having a taste. Made with no artificial flavors, sweeteners, or colorings, the maple cotton candy has quickly developed its own strong following. No matter where your sweet tooth lies, there is something for everyone to enjoy at Riverside Maple Farms.
